Approx. 1000 kg Ganesh Pooja Waste collected from Sea Shore. Preparing Vermi compost. Malavan Nagar Parishad involved this year

This was 2nd year IBT student collected Ganesh Pooja waste from the sea shore. To avoid environmental & hygienic problem at the Malvan seashore. Looking at last year IBT initiative this year Malvan Nargar Parishad involved & supported this IBT initiative. They helped in collection of waste & offered vehicle to carry the waste. Approx. 1000 kg of waste collected by adding other required materil school has started vermi composting. School is expecting approx. 800 kg vermi compost from the same & earning of Min Rs. 12000. Rs. 15/kg.
It is becoming an ideal model for society and government for waste management.
Prepared a Big Humidity Chamber
Location: Dnyan Savardhini Vidhyalaya, Shirwal Description:
This school is located in a small city there is a good demand for flower plants and seedling. Last year students had tried humidity chamber at very small scale. Looking at the benefit this year instructor decided to make a big structure of the same.
Accordingly, the 10 std students prepared the big humidity chamber of 20 ft X 10 ft using a PVC pipe and plastic paper. They have started preparing seedlings, flower plants and grafting activities in the same.
It took approx. 9500 cost to built the same.
IBT students prepared bench using RCC column and Ferro cement sheet.
Location: KulswamiKhanderay Vidyalaya, Hiware, Dist- Pune. Description:
The school students were in a need to have something to seat on the ground. So as a sample activity they have decided to build a bench under IBT activity. Accordingly, under-engineering section IBT students introduced to the process of preparing bench by using RCC column & ferro cement sheet. In this activity students firstly prepared the engineering drawing and started working on the foundation RCC column. Then prepared a ferro cement sheet of size 2.6 ft. length x1.3 ft. breadth. After getting dry student fixed the ferro cement sheet over the RCC columns already built. After getting ready students paint the same. Now the school is planning to make more benches on the ground & in village.
Students made various types of fish as a science model using 3D printing
Location: Hirakani Vidyalaya, Gawadewadi Description:
IBT student from this schools has good access to the 3D printer. Students have been introduced to 3D designing, 3D printer and 3D printing as well. Students are able to use software like 123D design, Kissslicer, Repetier host. 9 th std students decided to design a useful thing from their syallubus. As per the discussion with an instructor they decided to design and make different types of Fish. These design will help them to remember the types of fish and their names. Accordingly using design and processing software students designed 5 different types of fish and printed the same.
This gives excellent exposure to students about the possibilities of 3D designing and printing!

The IBT program selected as a best activity based educational program for ‘Shikshan Wari 2017-18’ event organized by the School Education Department, Government Maharashtra. The theme of our stall was ‘कृतियुक्त विज्ञान आणि वैज्ञानिक दृष्टीकोन’. This event aimed at exhibiting ideas which are useful and effective educational practices, which are improving the quality of education.
21000+ people from approx. 20 districts visited the stall in 4 exhibitions.
Projects exhibited: Hydroponic, Solar vegetable dryer, Making vermi compost from garbage, Electronic sensor based projects- LDR and Clap switch, Scrap rally and making best out of waste, Biodiversity register.

IBT project 1st prize in science exhibition. Project name- Smart Water level controller
Location: Adarsh Vidyalaya Amboli Description:
Overflowing the water tank is a common problem in the society it is here in the school also.
Since students were introduced to electronics and basic automation in the IBT program, to solve this water tank overflow problem IBT students decided to come up with some automatic system which will control the motor pump automatically to start switch off once water will come up to some level in the tank. Later under the guidance of IBT instructor and experts from Vigyan Ashram students developed a smart kit. This kit was tested & exhibited in the science exhibition organized at Taluka level and owned 1st prize. Thi skit installed in the school & planned to install one more tank in the village.
Students demonstrated the silage making at farmer’s farm- made 500 kg silage
Location: Shree Sambhajirao Palande Patil Pragati highschool, Mukhai, Pune. Description:
The 10th std students decided to make a project on silage in the community so that they will get a project and community a service. This will also help school to demonstrate this technology in the community.
Accordingly, instructor introduced the process and precaution need to be taken for successful silage and taken them to the farm of Mr. Kakasaheb Salukhe. There student followed the process and made a silage of 500 kg and informed the precaution need to be taken to the farmer also.
This was a good experience for the students in which students introduced to the process of silage making, they used chopping machine, weighing, making a liquid, etc.
Students repaired 58 benches as a project
Location: Shree Bhairavnath Vidyamandir, Pabal, Pune. Description:
This school is a centre for SSC and HSC board exams. This year school was going to face a problem of shortage of benches. The headmaster put this problem in front of school management committee along. Along with other options they discussed about repairing existing 58 benches with the help of IBT department. And it is decided to give order to the IBT.
Then IBT students of 8th and 9th std in their project work repaired total 58 benches. In which they conducted a survey put a material requirement with the help of instructor. This repairing mainly includes replacing the wooden planks, welding, screw fitting etc. If the school had taken this services from outside it could have cost Rs. 19,000. But IBT done this job at just approx. Rs. 8990 and saved Rs. 10,010.
The hydroponic unit adopted by a local farmer from Model IBT school at Nagaj.

Mr. Narayan Hankare (+91 9702492877), farmer, Kereweadi, Nagaj came to know about hydroponic technology in his visit to agricultural exhibition in the Kavthemahankal in Aug month. There he visited Nagaj school stall of hydroponics unit.
He have cows and goats. Due to drought situation animal fodder shortage has started in his area. In this time he found this hydroponic unit a useful idea.
Accordingly after exhibition he contacted the school and take guidance on how he can start this unit at his farm. To start with he started hydroponic unit with 3 big trays and after successful trial he started with 22 trays. He has a plan to start this unit with 71 trays.
IBT project ‘multipurpose Agri Power Tiller’ awarded with 1st prize in science exhibition
Location: Adarsh Prashala, Nagaj. Description:
The IBT students Mr. Sangharsh Gherde, 10th std. has a interest in engineering section. With his idea he decided to make multipurpose Agri Power Tiller using the scrap material. Which can be used by small farmers.
Further with the help of engineering instructor and local garage person the students prepared this Agri Power Triller which can be used for roter, weeding and making a sari (whole). In this machine he has used old motor bike engine which can run for 1 hour with 1 liter petrol.
This project school has exhibited in Taluka level science exhibition in which it got 1st prize and selected for district level exhibition.
Tested 252 drinking water samples through 28 IBT schools under cleanliness campaign of Prime Minister.
Location: 28 schools across Maharashtra Description:
It is important to check quality of water to know it is drinkable or not. Since many diseases mainly caused through the water. In Sep & Oct 2018 school participated in the Prime Minister Cleanliness Campaign. The schools decided to test the drinking water quality using simple water testing technology is available in IBT.
In this activity students collected the drinking water samples from 252 sources & tested the same using H2S strip bottle test. Out of 252 sample 32 were not fit for drink. The test result were communicated to the respective people who were using that water. Also the students communicated the method through which we can make that water drinkable such as use of Mediclor & use boiled water.
